   Inglemoor Movin' On

In the 2nd 'loser out' game for the Vikings in as many nights, Inglemoor matched up with Crest #2 seed Skyline for the right to move on.  A victory puts the winner in Thursday's 4:00 PM 3rd Place game with Issaquah who beat #1 seed Redmond tonight. The loser goes home.

The Viks opened up with a bang......a HUGE bang in the form of Erick Raynes 1st inning Grand Slam home run.  Inglemoor loaded the bases with 2 outs and on a 2-1 delivery, Raynes pounded the pitch deep over the left field wall igniting the Viking faithful.  Inglemoor tallied another run in the 2nd as Marc Dickerson singled and then promptly stole 2nd & 3rd base. A Mitchell Gunsolus ground ball scored Dickerson. Skyline responded with a run in the bottom of the inning.  Viks 5-1.

In the 3rd Viking Lightening struck twice as Raynes blasted his 2nd home run deep into the night scoring Craig Jacobson and giving the Viks a 7-1 lead.  Inglemoor tacked on 4 more in the top of the 4th on 2 walks and base knocks by Gunsolus, Logan Moen and Scott Meyers. The Viks led 11 to 1.

Inglemoor starting pitcher Austin Hueter opened the game a bit nervous but after pitching his way out of a 1st inning jam, the senior left hander delivered a clutch performance for the Viking cause once again.  Hueter allowed 5 hits and just 1 Spartan run in 5 innings this evening. He did not allow a Skyline hitter past 2nd in his final 3 innings of work pitching the Vikings onto a showdown with Issaquah.

Hueter was the benefactor of some outstanding defense tonight as well. An incredible highlight reel play on a ball on the right side of 2nd base by SS Sammy Johnston is worthy of ESPY consideration.  Johnston also teamed up with CF Marc Dickerson and 3rd baseman Logan Moen on a perfectly executed relay from deep center to nail a Spartan at 3rd and end a potential rally.  Then on the games final play Eric Edwards threw a perfect strike from left field to Jordan Sui at the plate to punch out a runner and preserve the Viking victory by a score of 11-4.

Inglemoor plays for 3rd place against Crest #4 seed Issaquah who beat Bothell and Redmond after an opening round heartbreak loss to Lake Washington. Game time is 4 PM Thursday at Woodinville HS.  Both Issaquah and Inglemoor qualify for the opportunity to play the Greater St. Helens League's #1 & #2 teams this Saturday to determine the final representatives at the State Tournament for District 2.
