Taylor, McMaster Lead Viks over Newport In a game that appeared standard to the fans - anothe game against a tought Kingco opponent. However, this one was much more than that. Challenged as teammates and competitors the Vikings came to play this one to demonstrate what the season really means to each of us. The Vikings responded to the chalelnge especially starting pitcher Obadia Taylor. The Viking sophomore opened the game allowing a couple singles but soon sent a ground ball to Logan Moen at 3rd starting the inning killing DP around the horn. Newport's ace was also finding his stride and the game went to the 5th scoreless. Marc Dickerson started things with a single to right. Then, with 1 out Viking 2nd baseman Trevor McMaster responded to the hit & run call with authority delivering the 1-0 pitch deep over the fence in right center. Vikings up 2-0. Newport came back hard in the 6th getting two runners on but Obi continued to get hitters off balance and roll grounders to sure handed Logan Moen at 3rd who was 8 for 8 tonight manning the hot corner. Taylor took the hill in the 7th and after a K and a ground ball out to Sammy Johnston, Newport singled brining the tying run to the plate. In dramatic fashion by going full count on the hitter, Obi won the battle getting the hitter to pop up to Meyers in right giving Inglemoor a big 2-0 win, Taylor's box is: WP CG, 7 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 0 Walks - and owning up to his part of the teammate challenge Inglemoor travels to Issaquah for 3:45 start tomorrow.
