Vikings Triumph in Issaquah Inglemoor traveled to Issaquah Wednesday afternoon to play the Eagles in a cross-over game with both clubs battling to stay in the hunt within their division. Issaquah opened with their Ace Shane Yarnall - Inglemoor countered with Spencer Trautmann. The Viking lefty was perfect through the 1st 3 innings and the Viks took an early lead. Obi Taylor and Trevor McMaster singled to open the 2nd and Taylor scored on a ground ball by Eric Edwards. Up 1-0 in the 3rd Scott Meyers gave the Viks a big boost banging a 2-run homer plating Logan Moen who had singled. Issaquah responded in the 4th with 2 runs on a couple base hits and a critical Viking error. In a mess, Trautmann dug deep and induced a ground ball resulting in an inning ending DP. Inglemoor tallied another run in the 5th on Taylors RBI double - his 3rd hit of the day. Trautmann continued to cruise with solid defense behind him in the form of Johnston and McMaster who ended both the 5th and the 6th with 6-4-3 double plays. Johnston also made a huge impact at the dish again today delivering a towering 6th inning Bomb scoring catcher Jordan Sui who was 3-4 on the afternoon himself. With the Vikings up 6-2 Trautmann opened the 7th and quickly got two outs but the Eagles battled 2 runs across. Inglemoor closer Austin Heuter took the hill in relief of Spencer and with 2 runners on Heuter threw 3 pitches recording a fly out and preserving the Viking win. Trautmann's box score looks like this: 6 2/3 IP, 7 hits, 2 earned runs, 1 BB and 3 K's ..... and a big Viking victory. Offensively Inglemoor had 14 hits with 8 of 9 Vikings getting a hit on the day. Inglemoor plays again Friday night at 7 PM at Valhalla vs the Redmond Mustangs.
