Vikings Boat Keeps Sailing

The Vikings visited rival Woodinville this evening and came away with a solid 10-2 victory - their 15th on the year.  Scott Meyers doubled in the 2nd and scored on a Marc Dickerson single. 'Dickie' scored too when Emmett Maki battled for a 2 out single to put the Viks up 2-0.  Craig Jacobson continues to stay hot as he put 2 more on the board in the 3rd with a towering 2 run HR to left.  Down 4 Woodinville mustered a run against Inglemoor starter Obi Taylor. In the 5th teams again exchanged a run with Ethan Yeo supplying the pop on Sac Fly to plate Jacobson. Then in the top of the 7th Inglemoor exploded. Conor Savage singled to open the frame followed by singles from Garrett Vandiver and Craig Jacobson. Mitchell Gunsolus drew an RBI walk and Woodinville changed pitchers for Viking 4 hitter Ethan Yeo.  It mattered little as Yeo promptly laced the 2nd pitch on a screaming ride to the right center wall - a ball that barely got 10' off the ground all the way.  Vandiver, Jacobson and Gunsolus all scored easily on the Yeo triple. To seal the deal Scott Meyers returned the favor and knocked Yeo in completing the Viks 5 run inning.

Obi Taylor threw the 7th and earned his first Complete Game of the year with the win. Taylor threw all 7 innings allowing just 2 runs while striking out 4 and 1 walk. He was also the recipient of some fine defense on the night as well including a sharp 5-4-3 double play started by the Viks 3-bagger Peter Meuisi and another highlight reel diving catch in center by Marc Dickerson.  A great win for the Viks who are now 12-2 in conference and 15-3 overall.
