Viks Tame Stangs !

In the opening round of the KingCo playoffs Inglemoor opened with the very tough Redmond Mustangs who started their highly touted pitched Dylan Davis on the bump. Inglemoor countered with Dustin Doucette and in the end it was the Viking horse who rode away victorious.

In the Redmond 1st Doucette got some help from 3rd baseman Brandon Edwards who made a diving stop on a sharp grounder and forced the lead runner at 2nd for a big out in the inning.

The Vikings scored in the 2nd inning when Obi Taylor walked then scored on a 2 out triple that hit the base of the foul pole by Jake Sleder who also scored on an error on the next pitch.

Redmond countered with a run in the bottom of the frame but Centerfielder Connor Savage's diving catch with runners in scoring position ended the threat and ignited the Vikings who scored two more runs in next inning Tyler Beahan stole home & Mitchell Gunsolus came home on a wild pitch. The Vikings went up 4-1.

With Deuce rolling on the hill the Vikings scored a pair of runs in 2 of the next 3 innings to put the game out of reach. Blake Wilson came up huge twice with an RBI single and an RBI double knocking in Gunsolus twice. Edwards also picked up Wilson with an RBI single.

Doucette then finished off the Mustangs  with the final out being recorded by Blake Wilson who made another web gem in right field on a liner. Deuce ended up with his 2nd CG over the Mustangs on the season and allowed 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 5. Another top flight effort by the Big Dog!

The Vikings move on to play Bothell on Monday at Woodinville HS at 4:00 PM in the winners bracket.
