WOW !

There were two teams competing for their season. In this winner-plays-on and the loser goes home game against  Woodinville & Inglemoor it was full of tension, drama, & conflict. There were high & lows on both sides, often in the same inning. There were 10 pitchers used and nearly every Viking played in the 3 hour battle. It was definitely the most exciting game of the Inglemoor season - a season that will continue this Thursday due to resiliency & 7th inning heroics in a 9-8 comeback victory.

Inglemoor opened with 4 runs in the top of the 1st inning. Singles by Connor Savage, Blake Wilson & Brandon Edwards and 4 walks gave the Viks the early lead. However, it wouldn't hold long as Woodinville responded with 3 of their own in the bottom of the frame. An imaginary strike zone plagued both starting pitchers and both saw an early exit from the game before an out was recorded by either defense.

Inglemoor senior Peter Meiusi led off the 3rd with a towering blast to left center to give the Viks a 2-run lead. Woodinville responded again and plated two more in the bottom of the inning, The Falcons scored in each of the next two frames on scrappy hitting and a questionable balk call.  The Falcons reliever held the Viks at bay as well and Woodinville led 7-5 into the 5th.  Sean Howard relieved for Inglemoor and threw 2 solid innings holding the Falcons to a run while striking out 4.

Down 8-5 to open the 7th Blake Wilson blasted a Falcon delivering off the centerfield wall for a triple that ignited the Viking faithful. Emmett Maki followed with a double and Brandon Edwards stroked his 4th hit of the game. Obi Taylor then stung a ball passed the Falcon 3rd baseman and Inglemoor was down a run. Catcher Adam Mosebar then delivered a Sac Fly to left to score pinch runner Kenny Holen from 3rd to tie the game. Garrett Vandiver slapped an infield single to the left side advancing Willie Augustavo to 3rd. Vandiver's dive into 1st base beat the throw and the Vikings had runners on the corners. Then senior Connor Savage came thru with a clutch RBI single to score Augustavo and give the Vikings the lead 9-8.

Eric Rogers was given the call in the 7th and, as they say, " he was as cool as the other side of the pillow". Rogers delivered for Inglemoor. A fly ball to left, a grounder to SS and then a punch out to end the game gave the Viking senior his 1st Save of the year and his team the victory.

Inglemoor squares off with Redmond once again on Thursday 4 PM at Woodinville HS for 3rd place and a shot at State.
