Viks Dump Bothell in 8th

Doucette Deals vs Cougars

The Inglemoor Vikings hosted cross town rival Bothell this evening at Valhalla in the KingCo opener for both schools.  Bothell was led by their big man Evan Hudson - Inglemoor responded with  a lot of tenacity and a little Dustin Doucette.  The junior pitcher played the Viking role in Inglemoor's 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Bothell.   'Deuce' put his team on his shoulders entering in relief in the 5th - throwing 4 scoreless innings allowing just 1 hit while striking out 8 to keep the Cougars at bay. In the meantime the Viks battled back offensively.  Garret Vandiver scored Inglemoor's 2nd run on a collision at the plate when Marc Dickerson singled to right in the 4th.  In the 6th Conor Savage hustled for the tying run on a Dickerson ground ball forcing the play at the plate.  The Vikings threatened in the 7th but not until the bottom of the 8th did they over take Bothell. Craig Jacobson, Marc Dickerson and Mitchell Gunsolus all worked deep counts and found themselves on base.  Viking catcher Ethan Yeo came to the dish and delivered a long drive to deep right center to plate Jacobson and begin the Viking celebration.   In form true to the Viking way, Inglemoor over came adversity and battled to victory opening their KingCo Conference schedule with a 'W' over rival Bothell.
